Night Serenades

Night Serenades

Liana Isakadze X Anniversary International Music Festival  “Night Serenades”.

On August 26, 28 and 29 of this year, the X “Anniversary” Festival will be held in the Concert Hall of the hotel “Sheraton Batumi”. It will continue on September 2 and 4 in the Tbilisi V. Sarajishvili Conservatoire Big Hall.

The International Festival “Night Serenades” was founded in 1982 in Abkhazia, one of the most beautiful regions in Georgia, with the initiative of a famous Georgian violinist and conductor Liana Isakadze. Unfortunately, the festival was stopped in 1991 and only after 18 years, in 2009, its renewal became possible in another beautiful city on the Black Sea Coast - Batumi. Since then, the artistic director is Liana Isakadze.

Over the years, growing interest toward the festival has led to the expansion of its geographical borders. For this reason, by the decision of the Tbilisi Assembly, the festival was given the name “Batumi-Tbilisi International Festival”.

Since 2011, the base orchestra of the festival is the World Chamber Ensemble - Orchestra “Virtuosi” founded by Liana Isakadze. This orchestra has already gained international recognition – successful concert in London in 2014 and the fundraising event in NY are proof to this.

It should be noted that the members of the orchestra in 2018 will be talented young musicians from Georgia, who live and work either in Georgia, or abroad. Therefore, this year the orchestra was named “Georgian Virtuosi”.

In 2018 Anniversary Festival Concerts, classical music masterpieces will be performed by such famous musicians like – pianist Alexander Korsantia (Georgia/USA), conductor Vakhtang Machavariani (Georgia/Germany), violinist Gia Iashvili (Georgia/Austria), violinist Geza H. Legocky (Hungary/USA), guitarist Zsófia Boros (Italy), bandoneonist Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (Italy), composer Ioseb Bardanashvili (Israel/Georgia) and others.
